Join colleagues and the Royal Roads community at Campus Conversation Sept. 13 to explore how we can address the climate crisis.
In his June 23 op-ed in the Times Colonist, President Steenkamp called for universities to step up to the climate crisis with long-term collective action. “We should be foreseeing changes, developing solutions and strategies to shape and cope with them and equipping students with the tools to succeed and thrive in an uncertain world,” he wrote.
Part of our Campus Conversation on Sept. 13 provides one opportunity to come together around those essential actions.
Prof. Robin Cox and the ResiliencebyDesign Lab team will facilitate our climate crisis discussion, inviting your ideas and aspirations for how we can reduce our carbon footprints, protect the natural and built environment and increase our shared resilience.
In anticipation of the conversation, we’re gathering an inventory of the many climate and sustainability initiatives already underway that include, or are led by, members of the Royal Roads community. Let us know about your involvement in research, curriculum, community engagement, onsite campus actions and other activities on the RRU climate crisis initiatives survey. Whatever the scope or nature of the projects, we want to hear about them. Use one form per project, but there is no limit to the number of projects/forms you can submit. Do send your completed forms to the ResilienceByDesign Lab by August 31.
We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you in person or on Livestream on Sept. 13.
