Communication Matters: Kinder Morgan Pipeline
Join us for the fourth panel in the Communication Matters series where faculty and students will discuss Burnaby's response to the Kinder Morgan Pipeline.
Jeff Orr (moderator) is the School of Communication and Culture’s BAPC program head and an associate faculty member. Jeff holds a PhD in visual /verbal rhetoric and postcolonial writing from the University of Leeds, UK. He earned an MA from Queen's University, Belfast, and a BA from the University of British Columbia.
Zameer Karim is joining the panel as an experienced journalist with a television and radio news, and sports background. His work with the Astral Radio News team was nominated for a BC Association of Broadcasters award for their coverage of the Haida Gwaii earthquake in 2012. He has a diploma of technology in broadcast journalism and communications from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and is currently a BAPC student.
Jessica A. Kirkwood is joining the panel as an individual who is well-informed about human conflict dynamics, particularly at the group level. She is a graduate of Langara College, where she earned with distinction two Associate of Arts degrees in Political Science and Peace and Conflict Studies. She is currently a BAPC student.
Vanessa Oishi is joining the panel with a background in advertising, primarily with the Proctor & Gamble business. She graduated with an advanced diploma in advertising from Durham College as the highest ranking student with president’s honours and leadership. She is currently a BAPC student.
