We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sonia Kang, Canada Research Chair in Identity, Diversity, and Inclusion, to lead a presentation and workshop from 10:00 – 11:30 am on June 23, 2021, titled: Confronting Anti-Asian Racism in Academia and Beyond.

Anti-Asian racism (AAR) and violence are on the rise, particularly in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This workshop will explore the roots and experience of AAR and provide a forum for discussion around participants’ experiences with AAR at Royal Roads. Participants will come away with a deeper understanding of the current research and statistics on AAR in academia and beyond, as well as evidence-based solutions for confronting it and working towards its elimination.

The session is open to the RRU community – staff, faculty, and students.

Please note that students are required to register for this event to access the Zoom login details.
