The man who oversaw crisis communications for the City of Calgary during this year’s flood disaster will share insights into his experience at Royal Roads on Nov. 22.
Master of Arts in Professional Communication alumnus Benjamin Morgan will give a behind-the-scenes look at Calgary’s crisis communication response, and discuss how social media was used effectively during the disaster. Everyone is welcome.
Morgan recently completed a master’s degree at RRU that focused on crisis communication and the influences of new media. During his 16 years as an advanced life support paramedic, Morgan served as public and media relations officer for the City of Calgary Emergency Medical Services.
He is a member of The International Association of Business Communicators, and has been involved with Toastmasters, the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, the Calgary Public Relations Society, and several community-based groups.
