Earth Day zero waste BBQ lunch
At Royal Roads University, our care for the environment is instilled in everything we do. Our programs, staff and students are all inspired by sustainability and working towards reducing our impact on our planet. The goal: to live in harmony with our environment for the betterment of society, business and future generations. We are now entering the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action. Earth Day is the largest environmental event in the world and is celebrated every year on April 22nd. Earth Day aims to encourage awareness of and appreciation for earth’s environment, and foster action and behaviour change that lessons our impact on the earth.
RRU’s Sustainability Committee will be organizing an on-campus "zero-waste" lunch BBQ, in collaboration with Truffles, in celebration of Earth Day. There will be activities for students and staff alike to enjoy such as canvas painting, DIY recycled papers, entertainment and more. Please come out to help us celebrate all the Earth does for us, and in turn what we can do for our Earth!
The BBQ and activities will be held at the top of the Neptune staircase in front of the Grant building on Friday, April 22 from noon to 1 p.m.
