Festival of Colours and Easter Egg Hunt

It is time again for the 4th Annual RRU Festival of Colors and Easter Egg Hunt! The hunt will take place at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23 on the the front lawns of the castle.

  • Individuals will be divided into teams upon arrival - groups that arrive together may stay together on the same team.
  • Students, staff, faculty and children are welcome to attend.
  • There will be candy and prizes for everyone, as well as a special hunting area for the wee ones.
  • The  Festival Holi, will follow the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, on March 23. The brave ones are most welcome to join us and play with talcum powder on the lower lawns, in front of the castle. Dress code: white t-shirt.
  • Games, music, food and colours – This time bigger and better.

The Festival Holi, also known as Festival of Colours or Spring Festival, is one of the most exhilarating celebrations in the Asian countries, welcoming thousands of people every year. Mainly, it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring. Originally, it was a festival that commemorated good harvests and the fertile land. Hindus believe it is a time of enjoying spring's abundant colors and saying farewell to winter. It also has a religious purpose, commemorating events present in Hindu mythology. During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at each other, and celebrate wildly.

This will be a great opportunity to celebrate the multiculturalism and cultural openness that shape Canada.
