The Archaeology of Bankruptcy—the shaping of the pre-Dunsmuir Landscape at Hatley Park 1846–1910 by Richard Linzey.
This presentation will describe research on the pre-Dunsmuir history of the Hatley Park landscape and the associated narrative of colonialism, political ambition and decline that it embodies. Richard will also touch on the significance of this heritage landscape today.
Richard Linzey is the director of the Heritage Branch in the Integrated Resource Operations Division of the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. An architect, writer and public policy specialist, he has provided leadership in the conservation of the historic environment for 35 years.
