Student Services will be hosting an information session with representatives from the B.C. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to present on federal and provincial immigration pathways for permanent residency in British Columbia. This session is open to all students, alumni, staff and faculty.

When: Tuesday, January 24th 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Where: Nixon 119

Attendees can expect to:

  • learn about federal and provincial immigration pathways to B.C.
  • hear an up-to-date and detailed overview of the federal Express Entry system and how it works
  • hear an update on provincial immigration priorities
  • gain a practical understanding of the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) including how the points system relates to invitations to apply
  • speak directly with staff from IRCC and BC PNP

To maximize the effectiveness of this opportunity, prior to the session, attendees are strongly encouraged to review:

1) the BC PNP’s Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC processes

2) information on IRCC’s federal Express Entry immigration intake system. After reviewing information about the federal Express Entry system, students who are not already in the Express Entry pool are encouraged to try the self-assessment tool.
