International Education Week Launch
Royal Roads University, together with universities in Canada and over 100 countries around the world, we will be observing International Education Week (IEW) from November 16 to 20, 2015. The purpose of International Education Week is to raise the community’s awareness of international education and the contribution it makes in preparing Canadians for living and learning in a globally connected world.
Join us for the kick-off of International Education Week. RRU students and staff will model traditional clothing from around the world, starting with a campus flag parade with their traditional clothes at LIC Courtyard from 11 a.m. IEW open the doors to celebrate and showcase the events and activities that uncover students to a global dimension; enhance their knowledge and preparing them for an international citizenship.
Navigating the Global Classroom
What it is like to be a student in a foreign land? Join us for a facilitated conversation with a panel of international students speaking about their education and learning experiences in their home countries. Through sharing perspectives, we seek to understand the different values, attitudes, and practices that a diverse student population brings to our teaching and learning culture. This will be a wonderful opportunity for staff, faculty and students alike to learn about the cross-cultural differences that make international education unique.
