Join us for a Louis Riel Celebration hosted by the Greater Victoria Metis Nation and RRU Indigenous Education and Student Services. Learn how the Metis Nation hosts commemorative ceremonies at different locations throughout Ontario and western Canada to honor Louis Riel's contribution to the country and to his people, the Metis each year on Nov. 16.

We will have displays that will reflect the cultural aspect of the Metis Nation and information about Louis Riel, the Red River Rebellion. This event will tie in with our monthly Indigenous Film and Potluck event. From 12 pm to 2pm, please bring your favourite dish to share and enjoy the short, 1972, Moccasin Flats film (25 mins long). Feel free to stay after, for our discussion.

Discussion Question: What do you know or what did you learn today about Metis identity and diversity?
Please join come join us to learn and share your thoughts!

We will have tea, bannock/fry bread, and jam also available.

For more information please contact Asma-na-hi Antoine, Manager of Indigenous Education & Student Services (250-391-2600 ext. 4557 or email: asmanahi.antoine@royalroads.ca
