The Coaching & Counselling Centre and CTET would like to invite you to a lunch and learn facilitated by Lane Sherman, one of RRU’s team coaches. The focus of the session will be ‘The team experience from a student perspective’. This discussion will describe the good, the bad, and the occasionally ugly things that can happen with student teams, as well as introduce some approaches that ensure that the lived student experience meets the expectations of the RRU pedagogy for team-based learning. Throughout the session, Lane will draw on both his experience as an RRU team coach, as well as some key topics from his recently released book, “The Keys to Collaboration”, as they apply to RRU’s Learning and Teaching Model.

During the session we will start by collaboratively identifying some key topics, and then after the presentation (adjusted according to participant interest), there will be an opportunity for Q/A.

From Lane Sherman’s first experiences as an RRU MA student in 2003 (MALT) through his years as a team coach in multiple programs and schools, he has worked with well over 4,000 teams. Along the way Lane has seen the spectrum of the student experience and has used that insight to develop models and processes that have been proven to support teams in a learning environment. He is currently working with Interior Health as an OD consultant, as well as a team coach within the Faculty of Management at RRU.
