Mental health is about more than mental illness, and about more than feeling happy all the time. Mental health is about finding balance, feeling good about who you are, finding (and using) support systems and developing the skills to manage life’s ups and downs. RRU invites you to #GetLoud about mental health during CMHA’s 67th Mental Health Week May 7 to 13.

RRU’s Student Services, Student Association (RRUSA) and Diversity Action Group, are pleased to offer the following activities in support of Mental Health Week.

Building Resilience Workshops

On-campus: Wednesday May 9, 12 to 1 p.m. in the Castle Drawing Room (open to students and staff/faculty) *Co-hosted by Human Resources

Online Webinar: Thursday May 10, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. PDT on Collaborate (for students only)

*Visit our workshop calendar to register

RRU is ready to roar! #GetLoud

“What does mental health mean to you?” Keep your eyes out for an activity in the LIC Main Floor Lounge, and online via Student Service’s social media and Padlet, that will prompt you to explore what mental health means to you, and engage in the conversation with others. These activities will be ongoing throughout the week and open to students, staff and faculty. Also, keep your eyes open for a #GetLoud photo contest happening throughout the week.

Relaxation Stations:

  • Colouring Station in the library all week starting Monday May 7. Let go of your stress, and contribute some colour to our wellness mural - no artistic skill required! We will be posting updates throughout the week.
  • Lego Station – Tuesday May 8, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in LIC Main Floor Lounge. Hosted by RRRUSA.
  • Bubble Blowing & Laughter Yoga Station - Friday May 11, 12 to 1 p.m. on the Castle Terrace Lawn. Stop by for a few minutes to blow some bubbles or have a deep-bellied chuckle with RRU’s very own Viral Mangukia.

Community Service Leadership Project: Chocolate & Inspiration

Keep your eyes out for RRU’s Community Service Leadership Volunteers on Wednesday May 9. They will be roaming campus delivering some treats and inspiration!
