National Sweater Day
February 4th is National Sweater Day!
Celebrated since 2010, National Sweater Day is an event created by WWF Canada as a way to bring awareness to Canadians on heating consumption and saving energy.
Did you know that if all Canadian households would decrease their heating by 2 degrees this winter, greenhouse emissions would reduce by 4 megatons; the equivalent of 700,000 cars off the road!
Along with many post-secondary institutions across the country, Royal Roads University in collaboration with RRUSA’s Sustainability Committee, will be reducing heating on campus by 2 degrees on Thursday, February 4th.
Wear your best (or worst) sweater to school and share your sweater photos on social media using the hashtag #RRUSweaterDAY
Students from the Sustainability Committee will be on campus that day to take pictures throughout the day.
