The ride is a tradition almost as old as Canada itself, first performed in 1876 in Fort Macleod, Alberta. The modern version features 32 riders and their horses performing intricate, thrilling cavalry figures and drills choreographed to music.
Admission is free on a first-come, first-serve basis with donations gratefully accepted. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, blankets, cameras, food, water and other non-alcoholic beverages.
Parking on the university campus will be limited. We encourage you to walk, bike or use public transit. Royal Roads is connected to the Galloping Goose Regional Trail, has two bus stops and can also be accessed by bike or on foot via various trails throughout campus.
