Abstract: What is the place of poetry as a way of knowing in a university? How might we benefit from the particular gifts that poetic vision brings in order to strengthen our teaching and learning community, and our identity as an evolving institution? Through sharing diverse examples from the interpretive research method known as Poetic Inquiry, Pamela will discuss the philosophical and practical basis of poetry within research and teaching across disciplines. We will engage in some shared poetic readings, play explorations, and reflect on our own interests and possibilities in relation to knowing poetically.
