The Grand Challenges: Climate Pollution and Biodiversity Conservation
A Salon with Dr. Ann Dale, Dr. Rob Newell, Dr. Matt Dodd and Dr. Hilary Leighton

The most recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report issued dire warnings that unless we reduce our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) to stabilize global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees, we will face catastrophic change. And we have just 12 years to reach that goal. Shortly after, the IPESB released its report stating we were facing a massive global biodiversity extinction. Given these warnings, what are the solutions and pathways forward to respond to these two grand challenges that are inextricably linked? For although we still have some time and certainly the innovations to address climate change adaptation and mitigation, there is no second chance from extinction. Join SES scientists as they discuss their latest research and insights into reconciliation and reconnection.
