In partnership with SeCatalyst, Camosun College and the University of Victoria, Royal Roads will host Vancouver Island’s first Social Venture Bootcamp Feb. 15 to 18, 2018. The event focuses on testing the viability of a social enterprising idea—from concept to launch. Participants will leave the workshop with a solid plan for moving their idea forward for testing.
“A program like the SVB, designed to address the organizational challenges of combining social purpose with business discipline, will help create the kind of powerful hybrid organizations and leaders that can address Vancouver Island’s most pressing social issues in a sustainable way,” says Robert Mittelman, director and associate professor of Royal Roads University’s School of Business.
Educators from Royal Roads, Camosun and UVic will use real-life examples and case studies from social enterprises to help participants transform their ideas into viable ventures that address social, environmental or cultural challenges.
