Christie on Canada’s peacekeeping commitment

CHEK News asked School of Humanitarian Studies Prof. Ken Christie to weigh in on Canada’s commitment to provide the United Nations with resources for future peacekeeping missions.

At a UN peacekeeping conference in Vancouver this week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged up to 200 ground troops as well as helicopters and funds.

“We definitely need to spend more money on peacekeeping, we need to reaffirm Canada’s commitment to peacekeeping because it has suffered in terms of its reputation to some extent,” Christie says.
