Christie on creating a national intelligence watchdog

School of Humanitarian Studies Prof. Kenneth Christie was interviewed by Pamela McCall on CFAX Radio about the creation of a centralized national watchdog to oversee federal intelligence.

Here is an excerpt:

“We live in a democracy and there is a fine balance between national security, freedom of speech and accountability,” says Christie. “We have to have a body that holds these other parts of the government accountable to security services because often we’re not told what’s going on, so we need to have a watchdog to make sure they’re living up to the law.”
