Christie on historic Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un meeting

Human Security and Peacebuilding Program Head Ken Christie spoke with CFAX Radio’s Adam Stirling about the significance of last weekend’s historic meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea.

Here is an excerpt:

‘We’ve not seen any decommissioning of nuclear weapons in North Korea. We’ve not seen any end to hostilities. The war between North Korea and South Korea has still been going on for about 70 years. We’ve had a ceasefire, one of the longest running ceasefires on the planet.

‘We’ve not really seen anything that concrete, but we have seen a lot of kind of drama. We’ve seen a lot of theatre.’

The interview was aired on CFAX Radio.
