Tourism Management graduate programs Associate Professor and Program Head Geoffrey Bird  and Master of Arts in Tourism Management student Natalie Thiesen were interviewed about their research related to Canadian sites of commemoration and Canada’s involvement in the world wars.

Here is an excerpt:

“It’s really quite an amazing and serious topic when you get there and realize you’re standing in the history’s footsteps,” says Bird.

Thiesen adds, “The eight days I spent at Juno beach speaking with Canadians was really eye-opening, not only to learn about Canada’s contribution in the Second World War, but also to learn about Canadians’ connection to this place in Northern France.”
