Comment: For universities and federal government, sunny days?

President and Vice-chancellor Allan Cahoon had an opinion-editorial piece published in the Times Colonist newspaper suggesting universities and federal government both have a role in post-secondary education. Cahooon noted that despite the responsibility for education remaining with the provinces, the federal government does have influence and leverage over university education.

Cahoon adds, “By differentiating and focusing on their own strengths, Canada’s universities can direct their attention to supporting regional and national alignment with the new government’s agenda and priorities.”
