Master of Arts in Intercultural and International Communication student Sara Korajian was interviewed by CTV Morning Live Ottawa about her research on addiction to cell phone usage. She offers some mobile app options to combat that addiction.
“There is such a thing as addiction when it comes to mobile phones,” says Korajian. “There are apps available that can measure where and how many times a day you access your phone and can help you set limits and blackout times to put your phone aside.”
Korajian adds that mobile phones have made getting in touch very easy, but they also allow us to cancel at the last minute or use a text message or a Facebook message rather than a more personal phone call or face-to-face meeting.
