Life Off Grid Halifax premiere
Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Public Ethnography Dr. Phillip Vannini was interviewed on The Sheldon MacLeod Show on News 95.7 March 3rd about his Life Off Grid documentary, and shared what he learned about people who choose to disconnect.
Here is an excerpt:
“In Canada, where I did my research, I learned that most of the people who live off the grid actually make very practicable decisions,” says Vannini. “They happen to live too far from the nearest electricity pole, connecting would be simply too expensive, so they decide to invest in a system and never have to pay a bill for the rest of their life – the rest is just making virtue out of necessity.”
Life Off Grid has its Maritimes premiere on March 14 at Dalhousie Art Gallery in Halifax.
