Politics of fear - how realistic is the threat of terrorism in Canada
August 31, 2015
Dr. Ken Christie says the threat of terrorism to Canada is not realistic at all. In an interview with CFAX radio, the head of the Human Security and Peacebuilding program at Royal Roads says the issue of terrorism in Canada has been "hyped beyond belief".
He says there are more people killed in car accidents each year than there are by terrorism in Canada and adds this "politics of fear" is a "typical tactic of many encumbent political parties in a run up to a general election" - such as the one Canada is currently experiencing.
