Vannini’s research explores meaning of wildness

Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Public Ethnography Phillip Vannini was interviewed by Pique NewsMagazine about his five-year research project In the Name of the Wild that explores cross-cultural meanings of wildness.

"Some people might say these are the most pristine, wild, or purely natural places remaining on our planet," says Vannini. "Others might say that by naming these places natural or wild we are simply ignoring the peoples and cultures that make them so special."
