School of Communication and Culture associate professor David Black spoke with CTV about a Victoria man's letter to the editor of the Detroit Free Press that went viral. The letter praised the record of U.S. President Barack Obama.
"America is leading the world once again and respected internationally — in sharp contrast to the Bush years. Obama brought soldiers home from Iraq and killed Osama bin Laden," Richard Brunt wrote.
"So, Americans vote for the party that got you into the mess that Obama just dug you out of? This defies reason.
"When you are done with Obama, could you send him our way?"
"I think people feel its poignancy," says Black. "It's realness in a way that they don't when they listen to ad after ad on the radio."
