Black Press sat down with School of Communication and CultureProf. Jennifer Walinga to discuss her recent induction to Rowing Canada’s Hall of Fame for her achievements in Canadian rowing. Walinga was a member of Canada’s Commonwealth, World and Olympic gold medal rowing teams and participated in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics, where her rowing team won gold twice.
This is Walinga’s second induction into a hall of fame; she was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame several years ago.

“Because the rowing community is such a tight-knit group, being recognized by Rowing Canada is more like an acknowledgement from your family,” Walinga says.
