Book edited by Veletsianos receives award

A book edited by Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Technology Dr. George Veletsianos was recently awarded first place in the competition for best book in distance education by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).

Emergence and Innovation in Digital Learning: Foundations and Applications is a collection of work by scholars and practitioners associated with emergence in digital education. The book examines concepts of emerging technologies and practices to improve understanding of the foundations and applications of new technologies.

The award was announced at the 2017 Division of Distance Learning Awards hosted by the AECT.

Veletsianos, an associate professor in the School of Education and Technology, has edited and published several books and more than 40 journal articles and book chapters.
