Royal Roads University celebrates new graduates

Royal Roads University will honour the achievements of 860 graduates at Fall 2018 Convocation Nov. 8, 2018 at the Royal Theatre.

The university’s 44th convocation will confer degrees, certificates or diplomas in the Faculty of Management, the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences and the College of Interdisciplinary Studies. The graduates join a community of more than 27,000 alumni worldwide.

“Royal Roads University was created to provide relevant, demand-based learning that serves the community,” says Allan Cahoon, president and vice-chancellor. “Twenty-three years later, we again celebrate the achievements of graduates who joined us on that journey and have produced visionary work to shape the future of not only this university, but of Canada and the world.”

The university will confer honorary degrees on Mexican Congressman Juan Carlos Romero Hicks and organizational leader Dr. W. Lynn Tanner. Former Royal Roads Chancellor Wayne Strandlund will receive the Chancellor’s Community Recognition Award.

The ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at the Royal Theatre honours graduates of the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences and the College of Interdisciplinary Studies.

The ceremony at 2 p.m. at the Royal Theatre honours students graduating from programs in the Faculty of Management and School of Leadership Studies.

Both morning and afternoon ceremonies will be available to view live on Royal Roads University’s broadcast channel.
