After 18 years at Royal Roads University, our colleague and friend, Cyndy Mason, is retiring on Sept. 15, 2017. Cyndy has filled many roles since she started with RRU in 1999, including most recently, Senior Administrative Manager (FoM). Prior to this, Cyndy was Manager, Finance and Budgets (CGEE), Administrative Coordinator (LLC and CGEE), Senior Learning & Support Associate (LLC), and Learning Support Associate (LLC). Cyndy has been actively involved in the RRU community, including the United Way Campaign, Convocation, search committees, PDP and Fire Warden.

Cyndy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Victoria and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Royal Roads University. Cyndy also completed the Personal Leadership in the Public Sector Executive Program at Royal Roads, and she has been a continuous learner taking courses from personal development to mushroom picking!

In her spare time, Cyndy loves being with her two dogs, doing yoga, hiking, swimming and travelling to Mexico.  She hopes to make Mexico her second home and, in preparation for this, she has been learning Spanish. Magnifico Cyndy!

We will miss Cyndy when she leaves us this fall. She will be remembered for her professional expertise, sage advice, and her ability to effortlessly problem solve when the most complex issues were on our doorsteps. We wish Cyndy an abundance of joy and success in her future endeavors, and we hope her retirement will be all that she dreams about and more!

Please join us from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in the Hatley Castle Drawing Room for appies and cake to celebrate Cyndy Mason’s retirement.

Please RSVP to Kim Lang.
