Announcing new board member Cindy Brar
We are pleased to announce Cindy Brar as the new employee-elected representative on Royal Roads’ Board of Governors.
Cindy joined Royal Roads in 1996 to assist the Program Development Team. Later that year she was assigned to the newly created Science, Technology and Environment Division, now called the School of Environment and Sustainability. In 2005, Cindy was reassigned to the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences. She has since held the roles of learning support associate, coordinator and manager. In 2016, Cindy was seconded to assist in the creation of the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, where she now holds a permanent position as the administrative manager.
Cindy is also a double Royal Roads alumnus. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management and Master of Arts in Professional Communication. She is currently completing the Graduate Certificate in Business Development in International Education.
Cindy has been elected for a three-year term ending March 31, 2020.
Please join us in thanking Candace Perkins, Senior HR Advisor, who will complete her term as the employee-elected member of the Board of Governors on March 31. Candace served on the Finance and Audit Committee, and Board members are deeply grateful for her time and dedication in serving the Royal Roads community.
“I consider myself fortunate to have worked with Candace over the last three years,” said Board of Governors Chair and Chancellor Wayne Strandlund. “She continually demonstrated her commitment to the university and I wish her well as she continues to serve Royal Roads.”
Thank you and farewell to Candace, and welcome Cindy!
