Annual Everyone Counts Census Set to Launch
On November 27, 2020, Royal Roads University (RRU) will launch its second annual Everyone Counts census. Our university has adopted this practice to assess the diversity of our employees and their experiences at Royal Roads University.
The information collected via the census will be essential to learn who we are, whom we should reach out to to be part of our organization, and what factors play a role in the full and successful participation of each member within our workforce. The participation of all RRU employees in this census will be a crucial contribution to our commitment to the wellbeing of our diverse community.
This initiative continues to be a collective endeavour with Human Resources conducting consultations with the , members of the Diversity Action Group (DAG), the President’s Steering Committee on Equity Diversity and Inclusion and various RRU stakeholders on topics such as language, self-identification categories, and questionnaire design.
To further showcase and celebrate the richness to be gained through our diversity some of our RRU colleagues have recorded videos in which they share their opinion on why it’s important to know the demographic representation within our university. The videos are currently in post-production and will be available when we launch the census. Please stay tuned.
The Everyone Counts census is voluntary. When it is launched on November 27, you will have the choice to answer it either electronically or in hard copy. The hard copy forms will be available at the Welcome Centre in the Learning and Innovation Centre and in the administrative offices of Operations and Resilience department located in 7B Building (see campus map).
