Are you ready for New Moodle?

Are you ready for New Moodle?

In anticipation of the upgrade to Moodle 3.2, CTET is offering a workshop for faculty and staff to learn about the changes and practice using the new features. The upgrade will bring several noticeable improvements in terms of visual appearance, layout and functionality for Moodle users. This information will also be available through the CTET website and the Crossroads calendar.

Who is the New Moodle workshop for?

This workshop is intended for experienced Moddle users who are looking for orientation to the upcoming upgrade to Moodle 3.2, scheduled for June 27, 2017.

What will I do in the New Moodle workshop?

In this workshop, participants will get hands-on practice exploring Moodle 3.2, using the new features and completing specific tasks. Each participant will be provided a sandbox site at the beginning of the workshop so they can “listen and tinker” while facilitators demonstrate and explain each of the changes and new features to Moodle. The workshop will conclude with a brief overview of where participants can get more information and support in using Moodle 3.2.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the major changes to Moodle.
  • Operate new features/changes of Moodle 3.2.
  • Describe new features associated with Moodle 3.2.
  • Locate where to get more information about Moodle 3.2

When can I take the New Moodle workshop?

We are offering the workshop in-person on the following dates:

  • Friday, June 09, 2017, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, June 12, 2017, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 22, 2017, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What if I can’t attend any of the New Moodle in-person workshops?

Faculty and staff who are unable to attend the in-person workshop are invited to complete the New Moodle workshop online as a self-paced course. The online self-paced option covers the same material as the in-person workshop. The self-paced option takes 2-3 hours to complete. Registered participants will be provided with a sandbox site so they can practice using the new features and complete specific tasks. New Moodle (online self-paced option) will be available in the second week of June.
