You’re Invited! Royal Roads International ED Talks

Get ready to be inspired, informed and possibly even challenged. In celebration of CBIE’s International Education week, we will be hosting International ED Talks on Thursday, November 17 from 12:00 to 1:00pm in the Grant Quarterdeck. Royal Roads International ED Talks are a way for students, alumni, faculty, and staff to share insights about the impact of international education and Royal Roads University’s engagement with the world.

There are two great opportunities to get involved:

International ED Talk Speakers

We’re looking for engaging individuals to give TED Talk style lectures on their international experiences in connection with Royal Roads. Speakers will need to prepare and deliver a short (5-7 minutes), high-impact, and thought provoking presentation. Royal Roads International ED Talks are intended to spark conversations about the impact and significance of international education.

International ED Talks are your opportunity to share how your international experience through Royal Roads has changed you. If you’re interested in presenting, please submit by email a brief summary of your proposed topic no later than Tuesday, November 1st.

Video Contest

Has a cross-cultural exchange or overseas opportunity changed your perspective? Tell us a story about your international experience through Royal Roads. Send us a photo, video, audio clip or written statement highlighting an important learning experience or “ah ha” moment that you have had.  We are looking for stories from staff, students, faculty and alumni. These could include study abroad or internship opportunities, field schools, on-campus connections, teamwork, virtual learning communities etc. We want to hear from you!

Please email entries with the subject line “IEW Video Contest.” Video and Audio clips should be no longer than 30 seconds in length. Submissions will be compiled and presented at the International ED Talk event on Thursday, November 17 from 12:00 to 1:00pm.
