Campus progress: roads, parking, data & more
University Drive Roadwork
Upgrades to campus services (water, power, data) resumed along University Drive this week. Traffic to P3 and the Boathouse is temporarily rerouted via West Campus Road. Flaggers will be in place to assist with traffic flow.
All staff, students and visitors to campus are reminded to obey the posted speed limits and watch for flag people who may be directing traffic.
Safe driving on campus is essential to everyone’s wellbeing.
The new LIC generator between Nixon and LIC was installed this week.
There will be activity between Nixon and Grant related to the campus horizontal upgrades and the EV charger parking will be inaccessible on Thursday, June13.
West Campus Deferred maintenance
Work around West Campus continues with upgrades to campus services (power, data, water, drainage and lighting).
Excavation of the old pool building continues to the end of June.
The bridge connecting the pool building and the Recreation Centre is scheduled for removal next week.
Expect minor traffic detours during the refill of trenches and upcoming asphalt work.
Parking below P7 adjacent to the Sherman Jen Building is complete and open! Twenty stalls were added below P7 to compliment the addition of seven stalls in P7. A total of 133 stalls are now available. On the west side of Sherman Jen Building, EV charging stations have been in operation for three weeks. Four accessible spots are available: two in the west parking area and two in the main P7 lot.
The Centre for Dialogue (LIC 407) and the videoconferencing room (LIC 411) were successfully migrated to the upgraded network.
