University Drive roadwork

Thank you to the Royal Roads University community for supporting the improvements to core infrastructure services (data, power, water, drainage and lighting) along University Drive this past year. Final line painting was completed this week. Minor work will continue adjacent to the Boathouse and Sneq’wa e’lun through September.

Library lighting

Installation of lighting bases along Library Road began this week as we work to improve the lighting on this pathway between the Core and West Campus for the safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Traffic will be managed by flaggers for both vehicles and pedestrians. Please obey the flaggers and travel safely in this area.

Campus power outage Saturday, September 7

Preparations for the upcoming power outage on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. began this week. Here's how you can help and what should be expected

Learning and Teaching Auditorium (LTA) and West Campus infrastructure upgrades

Construction activity continues in the West Campus Area. While work is primarily focused on the southeast corner of the LTA building and surrounding area, there will be construction vehicles travelling down West Campus Road.  For the safety of all campus users, the speed on West Campus Road has been decreased to 10 km; signs have been posted. Flaggers will be in place to manage traffic. Thank you to all campus users for respecting reduced speed on this road.

Parking Infrastructure

The southeast corner of P7 (adjacent to the Sherman Jen Building) has been temporarily closed to facilitate construction vehicles while drainage work is completed in the area. Additional parking continues to be available below P7 adjacent to Cottonwood Lane.

Data Services

House 3 was successfully migrated to the new network on August 29, 2019. The network implementation team will actively monitor the House 3 network for any issues this week.

The migration of Arbutus 7a to the new network is planned to take place in September 2019. Wireless access points cabling is scheduled to take place in the week of September 9, 2019 after hours. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Safety first

All staff, students and visitors to campus are reminded to obey the posted speed limits and watch for flag people directing traffic.

Safe driving on campus is essential to everyone’s wellbeing.
