Campus progress updates

University Drive roadwork

Upgrades to campus services continues to move north along University Drive. For the next 2 to 3 weeks University Drive will be closed to traffic from College Drive at Hatley Castle southward to Parking Lot 3 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. The road will remain open outside these hours and on weekends.

To access P3 and Boathouse parking lots between Hatley Castle and the Lagoon during this time, campus users will be directed by flaggers to a single-lane detour westward via West Campus Road and University Drive South along the lagoon.

Campus users can also park at the top of campus in Parking Lot 4 and walk a few extra minutes to work and class.

Safety first!  All staff, students and visitors to campus are reminded to obey the posted speed limits and watch for flag people who may be directing traffic. Safe driving on campus is essential to everyone’s wellbeing.

Hatley Castle walkways

Restoration work of the brick pathways around the Castle and in the Italian Gardens continues during April. The pathways are being restored with careful consideration of the historical look and impact on the surrounding gardens.

West Campus deferred maintenance

Work around the old swimming pool and Recreation Centre continues, with upgrades to campuspower, data, water, drainage and lighting. Please be mindful of construction trucks and workers over the next few weeks.

Staff and students are reminded to drive safely and watch for flag people while this work continues.

The expansion of P7 parking lot by the Sherman Jen building, and EV Charger and accessible stalls by the outdoor classroom are expected to be complete by the end of April.
