Safety first! Construction trucks are circulating frequently on campus.

Obey the posted speed limits and watch for flaggers directing traffic. Keep yourself and others safe by slowing down and driving carefully.

University Drive Roadwork

Upgrades to campus services continue along University Drive south of Parking Lot 3. Managed by flaggers, the northbound lane is servicing both north and south traffic during the work week between the Boathouse and the roundabout at P3.

Plan a few extra minutes into your schedule to allow for brief traffic delays when travelling to classes or meetings during peak periods.

Hatley Castle Walkways

Restoration work of the brick pathways around the Castle and in the Italian Garden continues over the next month. The pathways are being restored with careful consideration of the historical look and effect on the surrounding gardens.

Campus Lighting

The final stages of installing exterior lighting along the University Loop, from the Boathouse to the Recreation Centre, is occurring this week.  The lights will be fully operational next week.

West Campus Deferred Maintenance

Work around the old swimming pool and the Recreation Centre continues, upgrading campus services (power, data, water, drainage and lighting). Traffic flow is monitored by flaggers. Please be mindful of construction trucks and workers over the next few weeks,

Parking Infrastructure

Improvements to campus parking infrastructure continue. Enhancements to P7 (next to the Sherman Jen building) are near completion; paving and lighting will begin next week. We expect additional parking space to be available in a month. Coming soon: electric vehicle charger parking spots and accessible spots on the northwest side of Sherman Jen (adjacent to the outdoor classroom).

Data Services

Grant

Additional data cabling work is expected to be completed by end of March.

LIC

Communications rooms’ upgrades are scheduled to take place March 16, 2019. The work will cause network outages on all floors and in particular on floors 1 and 4. The project team will work closely with LIC building stakeholders to minimize impacts, especially to the LIC Campus Store and Guest Services Desk.
