Career Conversations: a networking event
On June 2, Royal Roads' Work Integrated Learning Office hosted Career Conversations, a networking event for Master of Intercultural and International Communications (MAIIC) and Master of Global Management (MGM) students who are pursuing the internship stream for their program completion. The session was the fourth in a series of on-campus workshops that are an integral part of the internship preparation and career management pre-requisite designed to support students in securing internships and to help equip them to navigate future career transitions.
Over 30 students and six guest speakers attended the event, which brought together business professionals and students to engage in conversation, share knowledge, and learn from each other on topics such as sector-specific career pathways, launching a career in Canada, networking strategies and accessing the hidden job market. We are thankful to all who attended, particularly our speakers from a wide range of industries including the provincial public service, the financial sector, project management, marketing and private business owners. Students came away with new connections, internship search tips, and the motivation to continue their networking efforts as they move forward in their programs at Royal Roads and in their individual careers.
