Christie discusses war tourism on CFAX

Humanitarian Studies Prof. Ken Christie discussed his recent participation in a peace conference  in Holland with Ian Jessop on CFAX 1070 on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Listen to the interview here (interview starts at 32 minute mark).

Prof. Geoffrey Bird from the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management was also at the conference, making two presentations.

The conference titled Post Conflict, Cultural Heritage and Regional Development dealt with topics of dark tourism, commemoration, memorialization and sustainable development among others. Christie and Bird along with an academic collaborator in Australia have completed a book series proposal on The Politics of Conflict, Tourism and Remembrance which is currently under review by Palgrave MacMillan publishers.
