Christie's summer of social responsibility
Professor Ken Christie has had a hectic and productive summer discussing Corporate Social responsibility to audiences at home and around the world. With co-author and associate faculty, Dr. Robert Hanlon, Christie has presented papers on the theme of coprorate social responsibility in times of populism and human insecurity. The conferences have included the BC Political Science Association annual meeting held at Thompson Rivers University in May; Finding the Good conference at Okanagan College, Kelowna in June; The International Conference on Business and Human Rights at the ASIA Centre in Banglok, Thailand in mid-July and the International Political Science Association conference 2018 held in Brisbane, Australia later in July. Each presentation has been a variant with discussions on how populism and CSR have affected Europe, North America and Asia. The end result will be a book project discussing these issues and their implications for the shape of business and corporate social responsibility as well as human rights.
