Congratulations and farewell to Sandra Rogers

It is with that bittersweet feeling of sadness and congratulation that Royal Roads and the Centre for Teaching and Educational Technology (CTET) say goodbye to our colleague Sandra Rogers.  Sandra has been an Instructional Designer with CTET for ten years but has recently accepted a position with Island Health.  Her last day with us will be March 13, 2015.

When Sandra first came to RRU the unit was called “E-Learning Management” (ELM), the learning platform was “ID” and unit notes were printed on real paper and mailed to students. So Sandra has seen and been integral to many updates, changes and improvements in how our courses are delivered. She is an expert in all things Mac and our resident social media guru.

Sandra has worked closely with the School of Leadership, School of Communication and Culture and School of Education and Technology, as well as with some areas of School of Humanitarian Studies and the International Study Centre.  In ten years, you get around! J  Beyond lending assistance and guidance in course design and development in Moodle, Sandra is well known for her work with video in courses and her generous support of instructors and colleagues in learning the intricacies of new versions of Moodle and Moodle features.  She has served as an associate faculty, teaching courses in ISC and STHM.

We invite the RRU community to join CTET in LIC 004 on Thursday afternoon March 12 from 3:30-4:30 to visit with Sandra and wish her well in all of her future endeavours.
