CTET announces new people and new roles

We recently announced, Manager of Learning Technologies Darrell Pettyjohn has joined the CTET team. We are also pleased to announce other new staff members and new roles. We are excited to have a strong team with dedicated members! Please visit the website for more information. 

The CTET team welcomes:

Keith Webster, BA (Hons), MA, Instructional Designer

Keith has over ten years experience as an instructional designer and educational technologist. His experience as an educator includes serving as an instructor in the Canadian Forces and as a high school teacher. Keith has taught educational technology at UVic and is currently an online faculty member at Thompson Rivers University.


Eric Bigrigg, BA (Hons), B.Ed., M.Ed., Instructional Designer

Eric has over fifteen years of experience as an online educator, course writer/developer, and instructional designer, at Brock and Vancouver Island University, and is passionate about the future of online distance education. Eric's recent experience working in the United Arab Emirates provided him with strategies to be a creative, flexible, adaptable, and culturally sensitive educator.


Cathy Pretorius, B.Com, Senior Learning Technologist

Cathy joined RRU in 2013 and has experience in developing elearning courses, providing training to faculty and staff, and integrating new media and learning technologies. She has over ten years experience in web design and multimedia development, customising content management systems, designing user interfaces and marketing materials. She has worked in a variety of industries including ecommerce, travel and art.


Jason Keddie, Senior Learning Technologist

Jason works with faculty to develop and maintain courses and course websites. He helps select appropriate technologies to support various learning activities, facilitates workshops for staff and faculty, troubleshoots technical problems, researches new technologies, and works on new technology implementation projects. When not working, Jason might be seen on a road trip or out hiking.


Anthony Manning, Learning Technologist

Anthony has fifteen years of experience in the new media arts industry in various roles, such as eLearning developer, software developer/designer, and instructor at both private and public colleges, interactive web & multimedia designer/instructor, 3D animation developer/instructor and programmer.  


Jason Sawyer, BA (Hons), MA, Learning Technologist

Jason has taught a range of subjects, including html, Dreamweaver, counselling skills/theory, English, computer maintenance, and audio production. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Arts in Audio Production.


Sophia Palahicky, BA, MDE, ABD, Manager, Learning Design Services

Sophia has twelve years of experience in the field of educational technologies, instructional design, and online education. She worked as an instructional designer at the University of Manitoba, and was a provincial consultant for web based courses for Manitoba Education and Advanced Learning. She is a doctoral candidate in the EdD program at Athabasca University.
