CTET bids farewell to Ining Chao

Sophia Palahicky

After 13 years working at Royal Roads and calling Victoria home, Ining Chao has made the decision to move to St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, where she has accepted a job as the associate dean, International Education. Ining said, “This new challenge will see me more connected to the field of international and intercultural education.” CTET team members will miss Ining’s contributions to faculty development and instructional design.  We are all wishing her the best in  her new and exciting opportunity.

When we asked Ining what she will miss she said, “Wonderful colleagues at CTET, faculty who inspire me with their dedication to teaching excellence, program staff who always demonstrate exceptional compassion and leadership, and students who won’t let anything stop them from learning and pursuing their goals.”

After a few seconds of thinking about the question some more, Ining added,  “Of course, there are also the peacocks (oh no, I won’t miss the loud squawking and you-know-what on the ground), the gardens, the forest, the view towards the lagoon and mountains.”

We wish Ining all the best and we invite other members from the Royal Roads community to send her well wishes.  Ining said, “During my time here at Royal Roads I have grown as a professional, learned to be a mother, and returned to be a graduate student. I’m very prepared for the road ahead because I have gained so much from this journey at Royal Roads University.” Farewell, Ining!
