CTET team members are pleased to welcome Gary Bartanus, MET, BEd., CELTA, who joined the Learning Design team on March 6. Gary’s approach to learning and teaching involves the integration of emerging technologies with socio-constructivist principles and current research-based learning theory. Gary is avidly interested in educational endeavors such as facilitating transformative learning, enabling students to become primary influencers in their chosen fields, keeping abreast with current research and future trends in education, assessing technologies, and collaborating with other higher education professionals.

Prior to joining Royal Roads, Gary held a multifaceted role at Hanyang University in South Korea, where he taught undergraduate students and developed blended courses in digital literacy, presentation skills and business communication for EFL learners. He has also served the educational community in Canada as a literacy and special education consultant where he conducted ongoing hands-on research into emerging technologies, delivered interactive presentations, and facilitated workshops at institutions and conferences across Canada.

Gary was born and raised on Vancouver Island and is very excited to be back home commencing his new role on the CTET team at Royal Roads.
