Routes Magazine published MAIIC student Dave Fream's research on the culture of Alberta's exurbia this week. Dave conducted his public ethnography project as part of IICS 605: Public culture.

"They are not city folk, nor are they farmers; they are acreage dwellers in between. Asked where they fit themselves on the urban-rural spectrum most claimed a rural identity – with caveats to indicate that life on the edge is a mixed blessing. In academia they call us exurban residents… I say ‘us’ because I am one."
