Documentary looks at conflicts in worldviews
The Jerry Cans are a modern folk and country music group from Iqaluit, Nunavut. In his documentary, Dear PETA: What the seal means to the Jerry Cans, Mark Solnoky explores how traditional Inuit worldviews conflict with values of urban Southerners, including animal rights groups such as PETA, and their beliefs that killing animals is morally wrong. Solnoky’s film began as the thesis for his Master of Arts in Professional Communication at Royal Roads, and has recently been released to the public.
