E-waste recycling

The Office of Sustainability will be holding an e-waste recycling drive on Nov. 29, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Grant Building Hallway outside Habitat Café.

What is e-waste? E-waste, otherwise known as electronic waste, is old, broken, unwanted or obsolete electronics. These items, if not properly recycled can contaminate soil or pollute air and drinking water due to the many hazardous metals found in them. It is important these are properly disposed of to reduce the impact on the environment.

If you have spare electronic items at home that you would like to dispose of, bring them to the e‑waste drive.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Home phones and cell phones
  • Keyboards, mice and computer accessories
  • MP3 players and walkmans
  • Remote controls
  • Headphones
  • Cameras
  • Calculators
  • Batteries

If you have any questions or unsure about any items please contact the Office of Sustainability.
