Environment faculty join Women for Nature

Two School of Environment and Sustainability professors, Ann Dale and Leslie King, are part of Nature Canada’s new Women for Nature initiative, which launches on Feb. 4 in Ottawa.

Dale, a Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Communities, and King, director of the Canadian Centre for Environmental Education, are among founding members of Women for Nature. The initiative brings together the leadership, knowledge, experience and passion of women across Canada who are committed to nature conservation.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate a diverse group of accomplished Canadian women who have chosen to join Nature Canada in championing nature conservation,” said Ian Davidson, Nature Canada’s executive director.

“These women are a driving force in Canadian society and they are at the heart of our efforts to engage and empower Canadians to advocate for nature, save species and protect habitats and connect children to nature.”
